Word Vom of the Week 8/26

I typically find myself surrounded by interesting characters and my co-workers are not only the most interesting, but the most absurd, ridiculous, inappropriate, borderline UNCOMFORTABLE people to be around ... ever. So, here are some random musings that I have heard this week thus far:

"Chloe and marijuana are the smells of my childhood"
    >>because in case you didn't know, the main crop produced on Iowa farms by high-end, perfume wearing hippies (who give handles of gin and tubesocks as gifts for all relevant birthdays), is cannabis.

"You either need to know how to alienate a waiter or play bridge..."
>> all necklaces should come with instructions like this<<

"I don't trust the taco truck. I mean, where do they wash their hands after they've been shakin' their dicks around?!"
>>genuine concerns, obvs...<<

Person 1: "I was wondering if you know anything about the Balfour Declaration...."
Person 2: "No, but I do know that my cousin works at a Holiday Inn Express..."
>>....and they apparently have an issue with visitors cutting holes in their towels. PSA: be courteous, bring your own sex shields.<<

#EARGASM

Insomnia Beats #1- August 27th, 2012
  >>> I haven't been able to sleep properly in years and this week is no different, regardless of my redonk work schedule. Here are some groovin' tunes to keep you from not wanting to bash your face repeatedly into your keyboard when Pinterest gets too wedding-y or The Newsroom gets too political for your brain to comprehend #mush. <<<

1. 20th Century Boy - T.Rex
2. Bad 'N' Ruin- Faces
3. I Found You- The Alabama Shakes
4. Hummingbird - Alex Clare
5. Classy Girls - The Lumineers
6. Migrane- Twenty One Pilots
7. Shiver Shiver- Walk the Moon
8. Nighttiming- Coconut Records
9. Keyboard City- Salvadore Santana
10. Rearrange- Miles Kane

And for all of ya'll who are interested in getting your ass preggo city tonight, do yourself a favor and listen to this-- Neighbors Know My Name- Trey Songz.

*I know I am deliriously exhausted because I keep adding the letter 'R' into random parts of words, also because I gave you a song to get boinked to. In addition, I know I am disgusting because I just melted mozzarella cheese on kettle corn popcorn and chased every bite with some Arnold Palmer...jealous? *

Nouveau

This past year has been a blur filled with the utmost level of craziness, in both good and bad senses of the word. The majority of my time was not spent focusing on anything constructive, productive or fulfilling and my mind unfortunately was set in a negative state, especially after the passing of my mother. And although, while I still have my days, I realized that: 1, I didn't want to waste my time or life focusing on negative energy and 2, My mother would literally punch me in the face if I didn't start getting my life together, not completely figured out, but together.

This hit me one day while wandering around the magical land of SoHo, where lucky old Whitty Kitty gets to go to WORK every single day. I wandered into an expensive shop and found a pink denim vest...on sale AND with an extra student discount. This was one of those days but I realized that something as simple as a pink denim vest can change your perspective on life. There are so many things to be happy about, like being able to figure out the AWESOME discount in your head (thanks, Ma) and finding awesome cupcakes and meeting interesting people and having a stimulating conversation or reading an awesome book or I DON'T KNOW your sister getting engaged AND getting to be her Maid of Honor, that it makes you feel silly when you sulk around and ignore the things that make you happy, including past blogs, writing, photography, fashion, music and art ....(and snacks).

So, now, here I am documenting my travels and fun and happiness and eargasms and crafts and friends and outfits and beers and cats and tacos (not necessarily in that order, but HOPEFULLY combined).

Here are my top favorite things since deciding to start this new blog about 7 minutes ago:

1. Seeing up and coming bands like Twenty One Pilots and The Bright Light Social Hour play at various venues. The former played in front of ten people & let me play the key-tar. The latter played a sold out show at Bowery Ballroom, which was unbelievable even though I was passing out after work, woooof.
^^This is the song they dedicated to me, D'AW. Too bad my actual videos don't upload.

(How cute are they ?!)

2. Awesome internet finds, such as:

and this...

3. This outfit:

4. My brother and his cat, Peter Nincompoop.

5. THIS ALBUM, OH MY.

6.  Baby pictures with Dad, the original hipster.

7. Completed my RNFR charm necklace by finding my Marcy By Marc Jacobs gunmetal skull necklace ... years later.

8. This book was so unbelievably raunchy and awesome
"The Last Living Slut" by Roxana Shirazi

9. SEESTER is getting married! I get to help!

(YAY, crafts.)

10. My job sells fun things like this!

>> C.Wonder <<

11. Ya know, friends and stuff like this guy:

12. The following picture contains footage from Dumb & Dumber and The Newsroom. Both magical creatures ...are Jeff Daniels. MIND BLOWN.

 I like a lot of shit, k?
