Non- Sequitur

I currently feel like a colonial woman. I just finished my third cup of black coffee and paired it with a can of beef stew. Should I start begging for Peeta's burnt bread? Just to add some dramatic effect??! But anyway, #poorgirldiet ain't all that bad. I'd rather have an unlimited Metrocard than a proper meal. Gummy worms always count...and dollar pizza...SUP FELLAS, I'M YOUR DREAM.

Eargasm III

>>Somehow even after working all day and not getting back to my house until 12:30, I can't sleep. I was under the impression I had another huge shift today, but SIIIIIIIIIIIKE, I don't have to go in until 5. Needless to say, I am still in a state of half delirium and the only way I am being productive is by drinking 820 gallons of coffee (and Monster, lo-carb obvs) and blasting insanely loud musak...

>>"Good Hotels" -Carlton (Found on this random blog, newdust.com... wasn't expecting to find much but they are like my favorite mix of awkward high pitched little boys voices and sound like they should be on the soundtrack to The O.C. , so it was a no brainer that I would be obsessed if Seth Cohen would approve...

>> "Lovely" - Twenty One Pilots (GET TO SEE THEM TOMORROW and apparently feast on the best burger in NYC. Consensus on that on Thursday...)

>> http://depressant.bandcamp.com/  This little album by one of my favorite humans on the planet mike (@fuzzybear92) and his band Depressant, is honestly quite amazing. It is reminiscent of early Brand New, when they were still awesome and less scary(...Daisy). Like, when they were the soundtrack to every emo, angsty teen's life..

>>"Detriot" - The Bright Light Social Hour (This song is only acceptable in the live version. I mean the recorded is awesome too, but ughhhhhhhhh, those vocals. Mmm.

>>"All Night Longer" - Sammy Adams (This song on repeat on the walk to work makes my day a bit more exciting and bad ass. Aka, it wakes me the efffffffff up and makes me want to go do shots. But that's a wee bit ina-pro-pro for 11AM....

>>"Springsteen" - Eric Chruch - (This is just obvious...summer --and most of my life -- equals country. For some reason, this osng and "All Summer Long" by Kid Rock (dont't judge) make me wish I wasn't such a combat boot wearing city girl ...

>>THROWBACK TIME

>>"Walking on Broken Glass" - Annie Lennox (COULD THIS MAKE YOU WANT TO DANCE AND PRANCE ANY MORE. I'M SORRY THIS SONG JUST MAKES ME SO EXCITED TO LIVE.

Word Vom Week of 9/2

>>My lady cats from hell are probably even more awesome and fabulous than the rest of the world.  I have to live through them because I am currently eating a pint of Lo Mein and pretending Scott Speedman is my boyfriend, but when he was in 1999, I think I like his long hair better, but his lisp is priiiiiiiiiiime...<<

"a man asked me to drink liquor from his boot, I declined but the gesture was nice"

>>the perks of living in Tennessee<<

"I only want to know you, I know already know everything about me."

>>taking a brief vacation from the world of narcissism is healthy ....sometimes..<<

"just got the number of the hottest guy.....and guess what his job is.."
-'TELL ME TELL ME TELL ME'-
"manager of a froyo shop"
.......

"i'd totes lick jimmies off of him"

>>obviously she is not from here...they're sprinkles, duh, hoagie princess"

Eargasm II

>>I don't know of anyone who doesn't enjoy Band of Horses, remember "Funeral"?? Ughhhh, le sigh, so unbelievably good. But anyway, this picturesque background and perfect live performance, makes it insanely difficult to believe this wasn't edited. This is the type of music that manages to be melancholy but pique your senses and surroundings. For me anyway, music is one of the few things that makes me really think, besides James Joyce...but he's just a weirdo. It amazes me that in the sea of horrendous, overly techno-ed music (seriously, everything has a breakdown now..and not even the COOL hardcore type...) that seems to be the only option available to my generation that there are still musicians such as BOH, that give us quality and genuine passion that music should have. Needless to say, I am SUPER excited for "Mirage Rock" to come out in a week or two.<<

"Slow Cruel Hands of Time" - Band of Horses

>>I have to say that The Avett Brothers are my absolute favorite musicians of all time. I have seen them perform once last Spring in Columbus, Ohio at the LC Pavilion, which is a beautiful outdoor amphitheater in the middle of the city, and I would probably do horrendous, unspeakable things to see them again. Now, even though some of the songs (this one as well as "Down With the Shine"..but you Avett fans all know this...) have been around for quite some time, the 'new' versions on "The Carpenter" (out in a few days) are SO FUCCCCCCKING AWESOME. UNREAL. Yet again, these boys didn't fail to amaze me. Ever since the live version of "The Once and Future Carpenter" made it's way onto the interwebs in the Spring, I have known that this album was going to bring great things. I have no clue how they constantly create the most beautiful yet angry, yet peaceful, yet heart wrenching music I have ever heard in my life, but they do and they keep doin' it and doin' it and doin' it well.<<
"Pretty Girl From Michigan" - The Avett Brothers

>>Ugh ANNNNNND THEN, Willy Moon. I have no idea how this voice comes out of this skinny, skinny fella, but I am so glad it does. The video reminds me of the intro to "True Blood" and his voice and dapper style just shoots me back into the 50's ...and 60's ..and 70's ...somehow, this guy, all 21-years of him has a style and vibe that spans generations and I can picture him being a character (and main component of the soundtrack) in Quentin Tarantino movies. As I write this, I'm listening to some of his live performances and realizing that his music videos and recordings do not give ANY justice to the insane rock and roll guitar ability and borderline raspy, deep voice that the randomly shot videos of him in the studio do. AND shit, he really enunciates...#speechpathology. <<

"Railroad Track" - Willy Moon

>>Don't worry, I will now proceed to jump off my musical high horse and go back to listening to my *NSYNC Pandora station and let you know that Ja Rule pandora was the soundtrack to my #fashionsnightout 2012..<<

Things that are AWESOMESAUCE.

>>Week of 9/2: SO MUCH MUSIC, SO MANY FUN THAAAAAANGS<<

Nothing is better than Muse. Nothing. Except maybe this below..

I'm really partial to his dance moves when clad in Batman footy pajamer$.

Speaking of Batman...

-I don't even know if that makes sense, but this sense of wonderment is unparalleled.

HASHTAG Hamptons

So my fabulouso job has a store location in Southampton, just a short jitney ride away from my favorite city. I was asked to go out for Labor Day weekend to help out at the store because NYC would be abandoned and the Hamptons are poppin'...which they so were, sup 10.5 hour work days! While I spent the majority of my time working, I had so much fun thanks to my lovely travel buddy and hosts and had a few adventures, some great food & bevs(...lots of bevs). This is definitely a weekend I would love to experience again, hopefully when I'm rich and famous and have my own house on the beach, ammmmiright??! Here are some pictures I took along the way! I however noticed, that in order to live in this town, you must be really comfortable rockin' white pants, like all of the time...and smell really good. Rich people smell really good, I'm used to smelling like a subway...station, not the sandwich store, although I don't think I would be thaaaaat mad at it. Now I need to go make a sammy....

This is how I want all families to dress.
Solid night on the porch after twerk.

Happy hour is all hours.

Our adorable abode for the weekend.

Sleepy smiles before the jitney.

This was somebody's actual house, should I be surprised?

Made new friends! Blondes 4ev.

Well, apparently we know I really enjoy the dual sided camera on my new iPhone...but this was a little taste of my little trip which was a fantastic departure from the city....should do that more often!

Things I Don't Like as of September 2012

After a recent trip to the Hamptons (which was fun..more on that later), I realized that there is a whole tub of bullshiet that I just plain old loathe. Why the trip to the Hamptons sparked this realization... I honestly have no clue, but take this as you may:

1. House music. >>I couldn't even tell you what is remotely appealing about music of this nature. Sure, Skrillex and whatever other weirdly named 'musicians' (avicii, david guetta).. that partially provide me some level of what is most nearly related to enjoyment, are good for partyin' and bullshit...but the other stuff that sounds amped up porno background noise, FREAKS ME THE FUCK OUT. It is overly sexed snake charms and I am not okay with being in the range of which these soundwaves can reach.

>>I know it's not technically house, but that's how I feel about dat!<<

2. Companies/schools etc. ...that DON'T let you access or fill out forms online. I'm on a deadline. I don't have time to mail you forms. GET WITH IT. INTERWEBS FTW.

3. ...but on the other hand. HOW MUCH SIMPLER IS IT TO JUST WRITE AND MAIL? DIFFICULT AND DAMN NEAR IMPOSSIBLE TO INTERPRET USER INTERFACES DRIVE ME NUTS.

4. People who think they're fancy. No sir, I am not supposed to know who you are. You're fat, have weird hair and are ~15 years older than the unspoken age limit at this club. Unless you are a sexy Yankee short stop or play a mean banjo with the last name Avett or play a certain someone named Jack Donaghy...I won't know or remotely care who you are.

5. I finished the first season of The Newsroom. All done. So sad. But it is the most spectacular show I have ever seen and re-inspired me to get back on my original path of pursuing journalism and showcases some of the most amazing actors and actresses on the planet while displaying the most accurate side to news stories.

6. In relation to #2 & 3 >> transfer applications. Woof. I thoroughly enjoy school and would like to get back to a respected university, but these apps are damn time consuming and make my head hurt..though, the head ache is probably from not removing my contacts for about three days...

7. Misconstruing information. Simple.

8. When sheets are too soft.

9. And turkey too dry.

But hey, girl hey! I get to go work Fashion's Night Out tomorrow night at C. Wonder in SoHo (72 Spring St. @ Crosby). Balloons and fun goodies and discounts and my lovely DJ pal Christina Maninno, designer of @deivie, will be pumping the jams and you can get sufficiently overwhelmed with our constant dance parties!
